With all the movements in the stock market recently, traders and investors are focusing more and more on protecting capital. Here is one way to do just that other than burying a tin can stuffed with gold coins in your backyard.

I’ve found that by properly knowing the stock trades trends of the symbols in my portfolio and keeping on top of those moves, I’m able to protect capital and pull profits out of the market from time to time. After all in the long run we are all dead and probably a few so called blue chip companies will die before we get around to it.

But staying on top of the changes and momentum shifts often becomes overwhelming, especially if you’re watching a large number of symbols and open positions, like me.
